How to choose the right size?

"An Egyptian" foot type. What does it mean? An Egyptian woman has all the toes from the biggest one to the smallest one in one line, having the next toe smaller than the previous one.
-
We’ve created a guide on how to measure your foot correctly.
-
With ballerina shoes the maximum of 0.7 cm is recommended, however it is largely subjective. A woman who has just started wearing barefoot shoes need a smaller toe allowance. Experienced barefoot shoes wearers find 1 cm toe allowance comfortable, some find comfortable even larger space.
-
In this case of being in between, we recommend choosing the larger size. You can easily correct too much extra space with insoles.

We will be happy to advise you. Just send us a message at info@shapenbarefoot.com. Don't forget to include measurements or send a photo of your foot measurement.
Shoe care
-
It depends on the upper material. If your Shapens are smooth leather, just wipe them with a damp cloth and apply a suitable product when dry. We recommend polishing with balms or beeswax. This prevents cracking, maintains the integrity of the material surface, thereby preserving the original property and quality of the leather.
If you have Shapens made of nubuck or velour (suede), never clean them wet, like smooth leather, but dry with special abrasive sponges or brushes. The upkeep of nubuck and suede shoes is a bit more difficult, so they need to be treated with special products that renovate the shoes and restore their color. For more information, read our article How to care for barefoot shoes properly? -
If you want to really prolong your shoes’ lifespan and great condition, they deserve your care and proper wearing. For care, use only the prescribed means,as improper or inadequate maintenance will reduce both the function and the lifespan of the footwear. To prolong the lifespan, follow these guidelines:
1. Use a shoehorn when putting on shoes, especially those with a closed heel.
2. Put on and take off your shoes as a matter of principle untied, never in a hurried way of taking them off "tied and tight"!
3. The foot must be sufficiently secured in the footwear by lacing, fastening straps, etc. Failure to keep the foot secure in the shoe can cause excessive wear to the linings, insoles or heel.
4. Change footwear frequently, especially in wet weather.
5. Note that wearing the same footwear every day reduces the lifespan accordingly. The warranty period of the footwear cannot be confused with the lifetime of the footwear.
6. Shoes must be allowed to dry and air out thoroughly after each use.
7. Avoid getting your shoes wet.
8. Impregnate the shoes and treat them with suitable care products before first use.

We do not do exchanges. If the size doesn't fit you, send the Shapens back to us and we'll refund your money so you can create a new order in our e-shop. Why don't we do exchanges, you ask? We used to, but the logistics were complex and it would happen that we didn't have the shoes in stock and the customer had to wait long for us to make them. The customer had neither the shoes nor the money. We are in favor of a fair deal, so we do not want to owe anything if it takes us longer to produce.
Our customers like to use the Facebook group SHAPEN group SK and CZ to exchange shoes. In addition to a wealth of information, reviews and classified ads for exchanging or selling our shoes, group members will also find exclusive discounts and bargains here. -
