How to care for barefoot shoes?

Have you bought barefoot shoes that you want to wear all year round, but you don't know how to properly care for them? We bring you some tips and tricks for proper shoe maintenance.

As we wear shoes on various terrains, we expose them to dirt, but also to water, and dust daily. However, this can be easily prevented by impregnating the shoes. Heavy rain can surprise us while wearing it. What should we do if our shoes get wet? If your shoes come into contact with salt or mud, it is critical to dry and clean them quickly.

For smooth leather shoes, a moistened cloth removes the coarse dirt. For nubuck leather or suede shoes, it is necessary to use a cleaning rubber cube. If this does not come easily, we recommend a spray dirt remover. It removes even larger stains without changing the shoes' color. When the shoes are cleaned, we let them dry completely and they are ready to be worn again.

A tip from us: if you want the shoes to dry faster, put old newspapers in the cleaned shoes (you can change the paper more often, this will speed up drying). Do not dry the cleaned shoes near a radiator or other intense heat source.

If you own barefoot leather shoes, we recommend shoe grease. This regenerates and refreshes the leather, protecting it from water and drying. It supports color durability and provides shine.

What should you avoid?

1. Never wash shoes in the washing machine or dry them in the dryer.
2. Do not dry them near a radiator, as the intense heat can shrink the leather or damage the stitching and glued parts of the shoes.
3. After contact with water, dry them as soon as possible.
